Walked into Guardian Pharmacy nearby my block.
While looking for Palmer's stretch mark control lotion, a sales person came to me:
Her: Hi, this is for pregnant woman.
Me: Yup, I know. (smiled at her).
(me holding the new Palmer's Organic stretch mark control)
Her: This is the new Palmer's organic range.
Me: What's the difference between the lotion and the cream?
Her: Oh, [she explains, bla bla bla]
Me: Oh, I see....
Her: Who are you buying this for?
Me: Myself. (grins)
Her: (eyes opened wider, shocked face). Are you serious? For yourself? Congratulations!
Me: Thanks.
Her: How many months?
Me: Oh, still in the early stage, about 6 weeks.
Her: That's great, at least you have the knowledge of starting on the stretch mark control right from the start. By the way, you look like a happy mummy!
Me: Of course, you mean pregnant ladies here are not happy to be pregnant?
Her: No, no, I don't mean that, it means it's good! You have to be happy when you're pregnant because it affects the baby inside you. [She went on a little bit on the do's & don'ts of pregnancy]
Me: Yup, I know it. (smiles)
Her: How old are you?
Me: Coming to 28.
Her: Wow! You look so young! I thought you were in your early 20's!
Me: Serious? Don't think so that young-lah.
Her: Yes, you really look like "xiao mei-mei".
Me: Thank you.
Her: [explains about another product to me, essence...bla bla bla]
Me: Thanks.
Her: So when are you supposed to be 28?
Me: October.
Her: Oh, Libra-n. Good horoscope!
Me: Err I don't believe in horoscopes.
Her: Oh, it's ok lah. Anyway, try this product and let me know how is it. It should last you for at least 3 months.
Love to see you, because you look so happy. [yeah, she doesn't know what a stressed day I had today in office]
Me: Er, ok, thanks! (moves towards the cashier & walks out).
This is the 2nd time I buy a product and people say I look much younger than my age. Is this just a coincidence or is this a fact? Or is this what S-A-L-E-S people do? Sweet-talk? Haha, no offense, though.
