We went for our detailed scanning yesterday. I could already feel baby's kicking since last week. It was a bit faint, more like muscles twitching, and the kicks are getting more often now.. and slightly harder. Baby was kicking (with legs 90deg up) and hands touching face and mouth (I think wanting to suck, but missing the mouth, or cannot aim properly yet) when we were having the scan. Baby was sooooo active that the doc had to really take the scanner from all angles to get the proper measurements and pictures needed. Jason and I were more impressed with what the machine can do. It can zoom in right to the heart, we can see the 2 valves of each side, pumping up and down. Amazing! The machine can even become a thermal scan to see the blood flow of the heart, the lungs, the brains, the body blood vessels. It was really cool! We saw the brains, left and right cerebrum, and I don't know what other parts of the brains that we have. Then the hands and legs, the bones, and even the fingers and toes! So cute! I have to go back for another scan on Saturday because they are not able to check the spine, which the gynae said it's important. I hope baby changes the position for the scan. Else, I have to make a few trips until they get the proper results. And all scans must be done before I reach week 24.
And finally, we did see the gender... but sorry, not able to let you guys know first cause I think it's fair that I let my mum know first before my friends do. :P Mum is currently in China for hols and will be back next week. I know Abby and Sophia were so "kan-cheong" that they smsed us straight after our appt. Hehehe.. Wait ya..
Anyway, here's a pic of SeeFirst. I was so amazed that SeeFirst had really grown!!! Look at the head! It's so round! We managed to see the eye sockets, nose, lips (don't ask me how the doc managed to get that angle, she just twisted the scanner here and there and pressing on my bladder that I had to go pee for a few times after that). In the graph chart, SeeFirst is in the mid-range. Neither too small nor too big. I thank God that SeeFirst is not too big, because my tummy feels like it's gonna burst! Which mum has reminded me to start slapping on the cream on my tummy, butt, and thighs if I wanna avoid stretch marks. But again, when it comes, it comes.. even though how much of cream you put. Hehehe. Am hoping the growing will be gradual, so that the skin has time to expand. Oh yeah, my navel feels like it's gonna pop out anytime soon.
My stats:
Weight before pregnancy: 55kg
Weight in the first 3 months: 53kg (-2kg)
Weight in week 16: 56kg (+1 kg)
Weight in week 20: 60.1kg (+4kg, total: +5kg)!!!!
Now, as I am writing this blogpost.. baby is kicking.. hard.. Hahaha.. non-stop. But I like the feeling. :) sometimes it feels ticklish. And at the same time, I'm now enjoying the Butterscotch bread by Gardenia. Yummy! Oh yeah, my appetite has been really growing. I was eating a plate of chicken rice, followed by a plate of carrot cake. Jason just shook his head. Then the other day, he ordered for me kolo mee, BIG bowl followed by hot beancurd. Haha. He just knows. Dinner, 2 nights ago, I had 1.5 bowl of yam rice, and satay. Jason said I'm crazy, but I'm always scared to get hungry at night. And I'm now getting more religious in drinking my milk at least once before I go to bed. My aim is to finish this 2nd tin of milk :P
If you ask me, I am feeling excited and great! And we're just superbly amazed at God's creation. Serious. Seriously amazed at His work/ creation.

Till then, look out for this space to know if SeeFirst is pinkie or blue-y. :)
