Since I actually blog. As in REALLY blog.
I have been working for almost a month now. What do I do? Most of you are probably in the semiconductor line. And well, things can't vary much when you're in this industry. I have been in the quality engineering since I first started as a fresh grad, back in 2004. Since then, I have been in quality up till now.
I have been in all kinds of quality, from front to back (incoming to outgoing, in-process, and so on), as well as customer quality as well as supplier quality. I was even handling customer returns. Pretty much, these almost 7 years, I was totally molded as a quality person. The only thing that I hate handling in quality is the quality systems, and audits. Hate those. Very desk-bound. :P
When I got the job in National Semiconductor, I was a little bit hesitant. All kinds of thoughts came to my mind. Because it was totally not on quality engineering anymore. It was managing subcons. I have to cover from head to toe about the subcon. The planning, capacity loading, all the purchase requisition and a small portion on quality. Wow. Headache. I have to look at their delivery schedule, chase them, quality issues as well and so on. So much to learn, so much expectations since they gave me a senior position. Oh well, they didn't pay you that much for nothing though.
No complains. I thank God for the job in Melaka. But somehow, deep down inside me, I miss working in Spore. The "easy-going" life that we had. And how we managed to go back on time most of the time, and even in time for my gym.
With a baby on one hand, and a job in the other, I have lesser time to go for my runs. But thank God for my parents, and aunt, I am still able to do so. :)
I secretly wish that we can still go back to Spore. The friends, the life, and all. But, for Sara's sake. Melaka is a better place for her right now. NOW lah. Don't know about the future though. It's all in His hands. :)
