Herbal and natural remedies

As you know, Sara was down with fever the past week due to viral fever. After 2~3 days, she had red spots all over her body. It scared me. I thank God for my aunt. Really. She told me she toasted 10 pcs of bread, and pour hot water over it, strain it, let it cool, and bath Sara in the hot afternoon. Sara did not have a decent bath due to the fever for about 3 days, and because her fever subsided, aunt did this. She said, the old Nyonya belief, is that this practice is to remove the "wind" in the water. I was like wow... I should have used this method for confinement right?

And recently, because of her red spots, to ensure she does not sweat so much, my aunt did the same thing, but this time, she added in a special kind of lemongrass (cannot be eaten) which she planted in her backyard and boil together with the toasted bread water. She added in onions as well. All to "pukul angin" as well as to ensure Sara's spots gets cleared faster and heals nicely.

I really thank God for my aunt. When Sara had heat rash when she was younger, she would pick jasmine flowers and rub it on her face to heal it. She will find jasmine flowers in the neighbourhood just for Sara.

Oh, what will I do without her? She knows how to "deal" with Sara when it comes to drinking milk. :)

Appreciate her lots.
