Life as a mum of two

On 25th July, Sam turned one yr old. A week later, his development stats are:
- Weighs 8.8kg (lost weight as he had viral fever for  five days and just recovered a day after his first bday bash)
- walking steadily
- claps accurately with sound
- climbs down butt first
- mama, mam mam, bababa, tatata, jie, ball, ber...
- stands at 78cm
- 8 teeth
- fully breastfed. :))))

Love him to bits! Cheeky and happy fellow.

Little did I know and realised that on this day, I have been a mum of two for a year. Hooray, to me!

Updates at 16+ weeks

Phew, it's been awhile since I am here.

Just to share on Sam's progress..

Weight:
Birth: 2.635kg
1mo: 3.1kg (+0.5kg)
2mo: 3.9kg (+0.8kg)
3mo: 5.0kg (+1.1kg)

Height:
Birth: 47cm
1mo: 54cm
2mo: 58cm
3mo: 60cm

Sam is still smaller compared to Sara in terms of physical development. But that is probably because Sam is a fully breastfed baby!

Soon, next Monday, he turns 4 months. That means, I have also been in my breastfeeding journey for 4 months! And that was how long I breastfed Sara.
I'm so glad that I'm given this opportunity to do so with Sam, and my initial target will be at 6mo. Anything beyond that will be a bonus.

Thank You Lord for a healthy and cheerful baby too! We are so so so blessed.

Sara on the other hand, is assuming her roles as the big sister pretty well.
Though many times she still seeks attention, but overall, she has matured much more and understand things around the house.

And did I say, she just loves her little brother to bits. Must talk and play with him when she wakes up as well as before she goes to bed.

And in everything, she always remembers the brother. I thank God for two wonderful blessings and bundles and bundles of joy in the home.

Also thank God for hubby who has been my pillar of strength in these trying times when I'm so bogged down with work and tiring to care for two kids without additional help.

Thank you Lord. :)

Where were we?

So, so, I repeat, so many things happened since my last update on 34weeks.

At 36weeks and 3days, a day after my usual routine check up, our little boy decided he wanted to see the world earlier.

The labor story begins...

About close to 5.30am my waters broke, which I thought I couldnt hold my pee. Changed myself and went back to bed.

In bed, felt light contractions which I thought were the normal Braxton-Hicks. But the cramp went down to my pelvic area which was weird. Suddenly I felt the urge to pass motion.. The same symptom I had when I had Sara.

After going to the toilet to ease myself, there was light brown stains. It was then I woke hubby up to get ready to the hospital. Alerted my brother in law to care for Sara when she wakes up and bring her to school for us.

We reached KKH at about 6.15am, at the Delivery Suite. Once I was checked, I have already dilated 4cm. They wheeled me straight to the labour room and strapped me to the CTG scan. It was then about 6.30am.

Contractions started to be more often and more painful until I felt like pushing towards the end but my gynae has not arrived yet.

Midwives and nurses were very good and patient. They taught me how to breathe in the laughing gas to calm myself down as I was hyperventilating.

Finally doc arrived just slightly after 8am and she did the episiotomy and with one push, little Sam was out! Yay!!

Altogether this labour is slow and steady compared to Sara's, fast and furious.

Praise God that Sam, though a little late premature baby, he was given the clean bill of health to be discharged with me the next day.

However 3days later he was readmitted due to jaundice for 2nights. Mummy was heartbroken. :(

To cut story short, Sam is doing so much better today. Drinking, peeing n pooping well... Very well!

Thank You Lord for all Your provision.

Here he is today, at 25days old:
