It's 2013!

Yeah, sorry for the lack of posts.. I really was busy during the end of the year. With a long week shut down, we traveled to Segamat and KL and Melaka for that week.
Tiring though, but fun, coz I get to meet up with my ex-schoolmates.
Spent Christmas is Melaka and a boring New Year's eve in Segamat.

And another reason for being tired is well.... it is starting all over again... after 2yrs ++.

Till then, look out for my updates! :)

Ipad friend

Sara's Ipad friend, Hannah came to visit us over the weekend.
It was a pleasant surprise that the gals clicked rather well, though of course there were times there were not so cooperative together. So this was what they did over the weekend.

First met at Old Town Bkt Beruang. Held hands on the way back.

They played Lego together. Although there were times they couldn't give and take.

When one sits potty, the other wants to do it too. :)

Stopped and posed for the camera. :)

 Fed water to each other.

Jie Jie teaching Mei Mei how to play the Iphone. :)

A weekend well-spent... though it was tiring. Hehehe.

Into the TWOs

We had a small-do for Sara yesterday, her real birthdate is today, 23-Apr-2012. It was a super last minute thing and we only confirmed and decided on the day I was supposed to fly out to Japan. (Which was 2 Mondays ago). I wanted to have a small one among friends and also of course, kids! Sara needs friends! And sadly, she doesn't have real friends at her age... Hehehe. The ones at kindy she's not that close.. but I hope she will learn to have friends there.

So, invites were sent out hurriedly before I left, and also follow up was done by hubby or when I was in Japan, FB-ing everyone. :P We just decided to invite whoever that is in Melaka. And only my aunt's family because she takes care of Sara.

All in all, I think it was pretty much ok, just that it was a bit kelam-kabut because guests didn't come all at the same time, they came staggeredly and we had a time-frame to end by 1.5 to 2hrs time. Overall, I think I was quite happy with the services provided by McDonald's as they were trying to be accustomed to the needs of our guests. And the lady actually handled the kids activities very well! If I have the time next time and when Sara is older, I would probably organise something like that at home. :) I love art and crafts too!

So here are some of the highlights of the day. If you are guest at Sara's party and you have any comments and feedbacks, kindly leave a comment at the end of this post or email me to rachellmc@rocketmail.com.

The birthday cake. Almond coffee from Yeast bakery. Very nice when it's frozen! A very simple-do compared to Sara's 1st birthday cake. :P

The birthday gal, happy with her balloons.

 Guests at the party.

 1, 2, 3, throw!

 Cuttting the cake!

Sara says she blew TWO candles yesterday. :)

Yay!

Overall, this little-do cost just a fraction of what we spent last year. And it's not the $$, but we just wanted the fellowship and the kids to have fun. I hoped you all enjoy yourselves! (maybe not you, but your kids!).

To the Lion City

We wanted to make short trip somewhere out of the country during the long weekend. But did not have enough time, so we didn't plan. Thought of going to Bangkok. I miss Bangkok. Shopping. Eating and CHILLING. So ended we said to go down to Spore, since KL would probably be jammed up. And so, we were praying that none of us get sick so that we are fit enough to take the journey down south. Sara was ok, slept for an hour through the journey. First stop was Old Town @ JB since we reached at about lunch time. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and with catch-ups with friends till wee hours of the mornings (3am), and was literally recovering from a hangover today. :P We finally went for our cycling trip. We wanted to bring Sara to the zoo but was thinking Sara just recovered from her fever, so better not go there. Also, the weather was lovely and windddddyyyyyy at ECP. Sara enjoyed herself I must say. She was so active and wanted to explore everything!! Except the sand and beach part which she cling on to us like a leech. But she still managed to get down and step on the sand, though we are not allowed to remove her shoes. Hahaha.

I miss life here. :/

 We went to ECP finally!!!

Friends.

I have been back in Melaka for about a month. Been working since 1st Nov. And up till then, besides my old friend in Melaka, WP, I have only managed to have lunch with Hazel. The rest, have not catch up yet (or probably only when the need arises? )But then again. When Sara was born and we were here for almost 4 months to 5 months, the people who came to visit us were actually my friends from Spore.

I guess it's not where you're from, but the sincerity about the people, whom we call friends. Friends, we have many kinds of friends. I'm not pin-pointing to anyone, but I guess, in every "ship" that we go through, especially friendships, we need to make an effort. I guess, I'm guilty to say that when I came back, I didn't put in much effort. Probably because I'm still not settled at work, and hubby is not around. Well, excuses, I know. And I will try to make an effort. But if people do not appreciate, then I guess, we just have to be like "Hi" and "Bye" friend, or rather, Facebook friend. :)

Just subscribed to Instagram app in my Ip4. Love it! Thanks to Janet! :)

Durians & Uncles!

It was a good, and tiring weekend. Hubby was back with 3 of our friends from Spore as it was their National Day on Monday.

Sara has been so active. Just loves people to talk and sing to her. She's very attentive, sometimes I wish what goes on in her mind. Even her pediatrician says that too. She's definitely a smart girl, who knows what's going on around her and how to get the attention of the adults.

Just today, we noticed her nose was a little runny, so we brought her to see the doc, and she's on flu medication for now.

Some updates on her:

-She now weighs 6.9kg!!!! No wonder my arms and shoulder aches to the max! Hehehe. But for a good reason :)
-She can sleep through the nites on some of the nites. PTL!
-Trying to turn from back to tummy, vice versa.. Strong girl!
-Still makes a fuss before sleeping (but it's usually shorter period), and drinking...

We had Frank, Kenneth, and Andry over at our place for the weekend, and they really could be entertainers for Sara! Hehehe. Thanks, peeps. It was good having you guys over. Breaks the monotony I guess. And I hope you peeps enjoyed the durians brought by my in laws from Segamat and from Bentong.

We managed to get Sara's passport done up today since Daddy was around. So, she's ready to go down anytime with us. Hooray!!

Till then, have a blessed week, everyone!

@ week 38

My updates:

My weight: 75.5kg (-1kg from last week)
Baby's weight: 3.1kg (-kg from last week) - rough estimation I guess. Hehe. Her head has finally ENGAGED! Good girl!! Doc said should be any time.

What does "engaged" means? Check out the pics below. It means the baby's head has to be fall lower into the mum's pelvis (for this case, it should reach till "0"). If it isn't engaged, the doc will say it's still "high". Which means, if I go into active labour when the babe's head is still high, I will have a longer labour period. The more engaged the head is, the faster the labour it is (as it is near the cervical opening :))

***************************

So what have I done in the past one week back home in Malacca?

Lunch with Liza @ Durian Tunggal - Yummy superbly spicy cili padi bee hoon goreng!

Just needed this one just in case I go in labour today....Coconut shake @ Klebang!

My brother got the Bentong ginger for me... 6kgs @ Rm13/kg!!! It's supposed to be the best for confinement.. anyway, me not a real ginger fan, I hope this will convert me. :P (not to mention the 15 bottles of rice wine that grandma has ordered and the 5 bottles from Jason's grandma). :P

Have been sorting and washing the lil Princess' clothes, hand-me-downs from Jason's uncle who has 3 angels of his own. This is the 2nd load, I have one more load to go. I do hope she's big/small enough to fit in all these lil cutsies! The weather is soooo hot that they get dried fully after 1 hr in the sun. :P

Tadaaaa! I finally finished ONE SIDE of the shoe. Hehehe.

Thanks to Aunt Cat Teh (Liz's mum-in-law) for this lovely suit. It's SOOOOO cute.. but in the weather like this, I wonder when she will have a chance to wear this.. Hehehe. :)

Next up, we were supposed to fix the car seat belt for the old Honda Accord to fix the child car seat, but had no time. Besides, we need to send the cushion for washing first...

Hubby and I were praying that baby comes out this weekend, but looks like she's still pretty comfy inside. I am having that occasional tummy stretch, which I thought was her stretching inside, but doc said it's not. It's actually a form of contractions. So, when he said that, I started to time them. First, it was every two-hourly. Hoping that it'll get closer, but now.. it sort of disappeared or took longer than 2-hrly. I guess it's probably Braxton-Hicks? Not sure. I don't even know what a contraction feels like as I get different pictures of it from different ppl. I do hope I do know what a real contraction feels like when it REALLY comes. Hahaha. Till then.. still waiting patiently for Princess' arrival. Oohh.. can't wait... :)
