Letter to my 3-year-old

Dearest Darling Sara,

You have been such a blessing and joy in our lives. I really thank God that He has given you to us and we pray that as you grow, He grants us wisdom in being your earthly parents.

In many ways, since you were born, you have always been special to us. Docs have commented how strong-willed you were since you were 6 mo and I really thank God that He has seen us through these 3 years to bring you up well.

As much as we tried our very best to do be our best as parents, we hope one day as you grow older, you will understand why Mummy disciplines you in a certain way. So that you won't be a spoilt brat. And because Mummy wants you to be an independant child.

You have grown and matured so much in the recent months. Even that's what Aunty Shirley observed. :)
You sometimes make us feel like smacking you but at the same time, you can be so adorable, the most well-mannered kid I can ask for.

I pray that as you grow, you will grow in love, peace, joy and faith and that you will grow to be a Godly woman of God.

I love you mummy's darling girl. :)

Into the TWOs

We had a small-do for Sara yesterday, her real birthdate is today, 23-Apr-2012. It was a super last minute thing and we only confirmed and decided on the day I was supposed to fly out to Japan. (Which was 2 Mondays ago). I wanted to have a small one among friends and also of course, kids! Sara needs friends! And sadly, she doesn't have real friends at her age... Hehehe. The ones at kindy she's not that close.. but I hope she will learn to have friends there.

So, invites were sent out hurriedly before I left, and also follow up was done by hubby or when I was in Japan, FB-ing everyone. :P We just decided to invite whoever that is in Melaka. And only my aunt's family because she takes care of Sara.

All in all, I think it was pretty much ok, just that it was a bit kelam-kabut because guests didn't come all at the same time, they came staggeredly and we had a time-frame to end by 1.5 to 2hrs time. Overall, I think I was quite happy with the services provided by McDonald's as they were trying to be accustomed to the needs of our guests. And the lady actually handled the kids activities very well! If I have the time next time and when Sara is older, I would probably organise something like that at home. :) I love art and crafts too!

So here are some of the highlights of the day. If you are guest at Sara's party and you have any comments and feedbacks, kindly leave a comment at the end of this post or email me to rachellmc@rocketmail.com.

The birthday cake. Almond coffee from Yeast bakery. Very nice when it's frozen! A very simple-do compared to Sara's 1st birthday cake. :P

The birthday gal, happy with her balloons.

 Guests at the party.

 1, 2, 3, throw!

 Cuttting the cake!

Sara says she blew TWO candles yesterday. :)

Yay!

Overall, this little-do cost just a fraction of what we spent last year. And it's not the $$, but we just wanted the fellowship and the kids to have fun. I hoped you all enjoy yourselves! (maybe not you, but your kids!).

Last days of 2011

It was hectic days before the end of 2011. Two days before Christmas, already started the feasting, right up till Christmas dinner. Thank God no weight gain. :P

Then on boxing day, we left for Segamat, a day trip. Just to pay hubs grandma a visit. With Sara of course. Managed to get my fill of Segamat kolo mee.

Before that, we went shopping for a treadmill. Very "gian" because our friend bought one in SG, and it was pretty cheap. We went to see Fitness Concept in Mahkota Parade to find out again for the 3rd time on the price and promotion for the Reebok Crosswalk V7.90. It is selling for RM6.3k, with a free Reebok foldable bike worth about Rm1k+. Very worth it. But then again, the price. We initially just wanted a simple one which was about RM2.7k, but when I saw the Reebok one, was very tempting. We almost came out of the shop with the treadmill. :( Instead, I came out with a pair of Clarks! Woohoo! Love it, love it, love it. It's so me! It's slightly big for me (though it's size 7! which my other pairs of Clarks are also in this size), did I shrink? The lady was nice enough to help me stuff with an extra padding so that it fits nicely! :) It was not on sales, by the way, but worth the investment. They are super comfy. I hope it can last as long as my other two Clarks (>2 years).

And then, it was a hectic and busy schedule at work due to some production issues, so I was sent to Spore, together with another colleague for an urgent audit. We stayed at ParkRoyal hotel at Kitchener Rd.
The room was sooo comfy! But somehow, I didn't slept well that night. We got a King Size Deluxe room. :)

Then, instead of having a lavish dinner with my supplier, I went out with two great friends. The time spent with them is precious. I really miss them... and Sg. :( We went to Waraku and got my fill of tan-tan ramen. :) It wasn't as spicy as I thought it was, probably they changed the recipe. So I had to put in lots of chili powder. Yums!

On the way back, we passed by G2k, and it was on sales! 3 shirts for hubs cost less than S$50! And I bought 2 working blouses at $66. Not cheap, but definitely cheaper than buying in Msia. Not sure why it's priced so high here.

And then, came the weekend. Just before we shot up to KL on Saturday, our treadmill came! It's from California Fitness, and the same model that I'm used to running at the company's gym. A plus point for me because I do not need the manual. :) As usual, my little woman must try on it first. We put it outside in front of the tv, but won't run on it when Sara is around. :)

After that we left for KL, with my two cuzzies.. and we went straight to MV. No JAM!! wow! So impressive. We were at Gardens... and the decor is pretty nice. :) Check out the grin on her face!

Then, we had to prepare for the wedding dinner the next day. She is finally wearing the dress given by a friend on her 1st birthday. Armpits and all so fitting! And the little headband was also a gift from mum's friend. We got her new shoes to match with the outfit. They are priced as much as my Charles & Keith! (will post up photos later).

I was so stressed on the wedding ceremony because Sara was cranky. Not enough sleep. Here's a picture of her screaming at the top of her lungs before the ceremony. Thank God she managed to quiten down before the actual walk. But I had to hold her hands down the aisle. :S was so not prepared for it. :(  *boohoo* oh, how I LOVE my daughter. :)

After the ceremony, see the dummy in her mouth? She slept after that while on the way back. :)

During the dinner in Melaka, she was quite alright. Seen here, receiving her angpow from her ah-koo & ah-kim. :)

Leopard preeenz

We are invited to a dinner where leopard preenz is the theme. Initially I was just thinking of getting a romper for Sara with these preeenz (no, I don't have any types of animal preeenz clothings). I got a friend to help me find, and she found this. Obviously I'm not gonna buy this cause it's rather ex, but hmm.. fancy wearing a mother and daughter suit... quite pretty, eh?

Updates!

It's been a while since I last blogged. Too busy with work and also things have been happening.

It started off with Hubby's prolonged flu, and then Sara started showing her reallll tantrums. That took the energy out of me. Phew.

Anyway, things are better at home now, and I planned a little suprise birthday dinner for hubby. He was shocked, of course as he didn't expect his bestie to be down from KL, and our Spore friends to be around too. All in all, I just love the cake the most. :P

And then, we had lunches and dinner with Liza, and dinner with Pastor J at a Korean restaurant! I really love Korean and was looking for a good one in Melaka, and we sort of found it! Yums! The kimchi soup in the hot pot was a real treat. Thanks, Pastor for the dinner and also the recommendation. :)

2-9 th birthday!

It was a lazy Saturday morning...Slept really late coz I was tossing and turning the whole night. Not sure if it was because of the "yin yong" I took during dinner at Kim Gary's with my ex-colleagues. Sign of old age? OH NO! Anyway, had brunch at this cafe called Cafe Hacienda at Dempsey Hill. Hubby checked online for the reviews and it was supposed to be good. I was tempted to tell him to go back to PS Cafe. But when we passed by.. my, it was rather packed! So many ang-mos.

Peace!

My first birthday with my daughter! :)

Hubby!

Hubby's egg royale..

The famous egg benedict

In the evening, hubby brought me to this place. I wanted to ask him how did he know about this place. But well, he was searching the menu and all these online, so I thought maybe he found this place under the recommendation of some reviews. But when we reached the place, I saw Sophia's car!!!! Hahaha.. So I was 3/4 surprised. And.. I had balloons!!! Overall, a very nice and cosy place, and also a hearty meal! Hehehe.

Surprise dinner at Spruce restaurant!

The peeps who made my birthday a very memorable one. :) Thanks all!
